All Things New
2
Corinthians 5:17-18 (New
American Standard Bible)
17Therefore if anyone is in
Christ, he is a new creature; the old things passed away; behold, new things
have come.
18Now all these things are from God, who reconciled us to Himself through Christ and gave us the ministry of reconciliation,
Our carnal mind tells us that we are unworthy of God’s
promise and blessing. We are guilty and
tarnished by our sin of the past. How true! No one is worthy of the love and
grace of God.
However, The greater truth is that God loved us, Jesus died for
us, and His sacrificial blood redeemed us. He has made us a new creation in
Christ Jesus, our Lord.
If we have repented and been baptized for the remission of
sin, (Acts 2:38) we are established in the righteousness of Christ. All of our
ungodly deeds were erased from God’s memory. The old record of sin,
disobedience and unclean actions are gone. He looks upon us as pure and clean,
without spot or blemish. The righteousness of Christ permeates our very being.
Indeed old things are passed away! We have been made a new
creature. The “New Me” is able to turn away from sin and it’s curse of death.
We have been redeemed by the blood of Jesus and brought into a new life of
wholesome purity. We are a member of the Kingdom of God.
“New life” in His kingdom empowers us to live in the
righteousness of our Lord and Redeemer. We have all the promises of God’s
covenant people. His ear is tuned to our every need. He has become our
deliverer, our provider, our protector and strength. His Spirit provides
direction and wisdom. His Word reveals truth and instruction, revealing his
will.
He has become our Heavenly Father in every sense of the
word. He will never leave us or forsake us. His loving presence is always with
us through the blessed work of His Holy Spirit.
Yes, Indeed, everything is new as we abide in Christ. Let us
walk in confidence that the bondage and judgement of our old sinful life has
been washed away. A new life of joy and happiness is ours as His Remnant in the
Kingdom of God.
Let us shout with joy! We have been redeemed. All things are new In Christ Jesus, our Lord!
